Club Peak stands out as a personal and professional development program that defies easy description. Originally crafted for our internal team, it serves as an invaluable tool for career growth, offering a distinctive approach that promises to meet your needs like no other before it.

How do we take our team of busy task-achievers and grow them as strategic leaders?

That’s what we were asking ourselves in 2022.

Our team had jam packed calendars, long to-do lists, and a real hunger for growth. As a remote-first team, we wanted to complement retreats and 1:1s with ongoing development. But we didn’t want to sit around in Zoom all day either. We knew that AI would soon begin changing the world of work and wanted to ready our workforce.

Club Peak was born as a result, and we rolled it out internally over the last year and a half. Created as a different kind of training for today’s hearts, minds, and attention spans, Club Peak combines asynchronous and live trainings for a hybrid team. The program focuses on building a fully-prepared workforce, including the most important skills (according to the IBM IV survey):

  • Time management

  • Prioritization

  • Interpersonal communication

  • Adaptability

How it works

Prompts and interactive exercises meant to inspire, engage, connect, or develop employee’s professional and personal development are received weekly by team members. Self-study is combined with group activities to integrate the content, and the following is included to appeal to a variety of different learning styles:

  • Holding office hours every 3 weeks to discuss, adapt, and apply concepts.

  • Earning 5 fun, unique badges, which offer opportunities for leadership to recognize high performers.

  • Engaging with personalized journals for reflection.

The results

A year after implementing Club Peak, not only did every single team member “summit” and earn all five badges, but team members gained more confidence and skills in half the time they might have normally.

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with team members sharing thoughts such as:

“It was a cool journey working toward these goals with others, observing how they interpreted badge meanings and discovering new ideas and inspiration. In turn it fueled my desire to explore, learn more, and approach tasks differently, as well as finding new viewpoints and potential growth opportunities.”

“I definitely feel as if Club Peak pushed me to more easily identify my strengths and my weak points, and it gave me the groundwork and inspiration I needed to fully embrace my role and responsibilities…Club Peak helped me to finally figure out the roadblocks that were keeping me from full progress.”

“The inspiration breaks, reading prompts, and opportunities to explore public art and immersive installations has also sustained my energy to climb this year because these mini adventures into other worlds produced little unexpected pockets of joy.”

“I feel like Club Peak is a really unique way to do personal and professional development – and I’m reflecting on how it’s become so integrated into how I work.”

Club Peak was such a resounding success, we decided not only to implement it again going into 2024, but also to share our professional development program with organizations outside of our own.
