Great Events Need Great Musicians. That's Where You Come In.

Why we're building a network of local performers, and why the best event moments often start with live music.

At NEWaukee, we spend a lot of time thinking about what makes people remember an experience.

It's rarely the logo on a banner.

It's rarely the perfectly designed graphic.

And it's rarely the agenda.

More often, it's a moment.

It's the song that gets strangers singing together. The musician who transforms a room's energy. The acoustic set that becomes the soundtrack to a conversation someone remembers months later.

Music has a unique ability to create connection. It turns spaces into places. It gives people a reason to stay a little longer, engage a little deeper, and remember an experience long after it's over.

That's why we're looking for musicians to perform at NEWaukee’s events.

Over the years, we've produced hundreds of experiences across Milwaukee and beyond, from community festivals and networking events to conferences, markets, placemaking activations, and neighborhood celebrations. While every event is different, one thing remains consistent: live music helps bring people together.

The best performances do more than entertain. They help create an atmosphere.

Think about some of the most memorable public experiences you've attended. Chances are, there was music involved. Maybe it was a solo performer setting the mood during a community gathering. Maybe it was a band that got an entire crowd dancing. Maybe it was simply background music that made a space feel welcoming.

The musicians weren't just performing at the event. They were helping create it.

The Best Community Experiences Feel Alive

The strongest events aren't passive experiences where attendees simply watch what's happening. They're opportunities for people to engage, contribute, and become part of the story.

Musicians play an important role in that equation.

They help create energy between scheduled programming. They provide moments of discovery. They give attendees something to gather around and share with others.

Much like great public art, food vendors, speakers, or interactive activities, live music creates connection points throughout an experience.

It gives people something to talk about.

Something to remember.

Something to come back for.

We're Looking for Musicians of All Kinds

Whether you're a solo acoustic performer, jazz ensemble, DJ, singer-songwriter, indie band, cover band, or something entirely unique, we'd love to learn more about you.

Our events vary widely in size, audience, and atmosphere, which means we're always looking to connect with performers across genres and styles.

You don't need to fit into a specific mold.

You just need to help create memorable experiences.

Help Us Build Future Experiences

The best events are built by communities, not companies. If you're interested in performing at future NEWaukee events, we'd love to hear from you.

Complete our musician interest form and tell us a little about yourself, your music, and where you've performed.

Because sometimes the most memorable part of an event isn't what people came for.

It's the song they heard while they were there.
