Why Rev Collective? And Why Now?
By: Angela Damiani
For too long, we as women have held one another back.
We need permission to behave.
Permission to speak up.
Permission to break the chains that bind our lot in life.
And we’re sick of it.
We need to be responsible for our own destinies.
We need to set our sights higher.
We need to be the ones who manifest our dreams into reality.
And yes, there are a whole bunch of societal norms, corporate structures and unconscious biases that are going to make all of that impossibly hard.
But that’s exactly why Rev Collective exists.
Our secret wish for you is to be powerful and generously paid… but we’re most interested in helping redefine what success looks like for you.
We believe we need a new forum that responds to today’s workplace.
Through Rev Collective, we curate collectives of like-minded women and non-binary individuals with similar career ambitions to address the opportunity gap that still exists for these professionals.
This is more than a networking group. We structure meetings for emphasis on sharing real, tactical advice to help one another scale our businesses, nurture our side hustles, or work toward our desired promotions. Between peers, the power dynamic is even, which encourages conversation, collaboration and experimentation on problems to find solutions together.
But wait, aren’t there already women’s organizations in Milwaukee???
YES! But more is more.
Do you know how many organizations, clubs and institutions in Milwaukee didn’t even allow women to join or step into their establishments no more than 10 or 15 years ago? A lot of them.
Have you seen the raw data on our representation in the boardroom and the C-suite? It’s abysmal.
Do you know how many female founded startups have received funding? Not enough.
We have a ton of catching up to do.
This is an all-hands on deck situation. And we’re happy to play our part in the ecosystem.
Rev Collective aims to be the most inclusive organization in the region and we hope you join us in making it a reality. Because after all, there is strength in numbers.
