SideWAUK Sessions: Walk with Mayor Barrett

Event Details:

Join NEWaukee for a very special SideWAUK Session in collaboration with the Mayor’s Walk 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge, starting at Jackson Park. We will meet in the Jackson Park parking lot off of 43rd at 7:45am for coffee. The walk starts promptly at 8am.

Mayor Barrett created the Walk 100 Miles in 100 days challenge in 2013 after a Public Policy Forum study showed that less than half of the people in Milwaukee get the daily exercise they need. Walk 100’s overall goal is to increase physical activity among residents and encourage all to explore Milwaukee’s neighborhoods. Throughout the summer, Walk 100 partners with community organizations, elected officials, and residents to host walks in all corners of the city.

Step outside of your comfort zone and discover a new neighborhood in an innovative way, build meaningful relationships, learn what people are doing to improve Milwaukee, get to your step goals, get your creative juices flowing in the morning, and be a tourist in your own city!
